Dental Implants in Turkey
An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a titanium post that the jawbone bonds to over three to six months, and the visible tooth is then fitted on top. In Turkey the same implant systems used in Britain are placed at a fraction of UK private fees, which is why implants are one of the most searched treatments for patients travelling abroad.
This hub gathers everything on the site about implants: the individual treatments, how many visits each one needs, what implants depend on clinically, and what the trip itself involves. If you would rather talk it through, a coordinator can look at photographs of your teeth and tell you which of these pages actually applies to you.
Start with your own situation
Implant pages are written for a general reader, but implant treatment is decided tooth by tooth. Two patients with the same number of missing teeth can need completely different plans: one has enough bone, the other needs grafting; one has healthy neighbours, the other needs those teeth rebuilt first.
Read the page that matches your mouth, then ask for an assessment. That sequence saves patients from paying for treatment they did not need.
- One tooth missing, or a gap in the middle of your smile — start with a single implant.
- Several teeth missing in a row, with some healthy teeth either side — an implant bridge may be relevant.
- Most or all teeth missing or failing in one jaw — full-arch work such as All-on-4 or All-on-6.
- Loose dentures you would rather not wear — [implant-supported dentures](implant-supported-dentures-turkey).

What every implant case has in common
Bone volume and quality decide whether implants can be placed at all, and whether grafting is needed first. That cannot be judged from a photograph, which is why implant planning involves a CT scan — taken at the clinic before surgery if you do not have one already.
Implant treatment is also staged in time. The implants are placed on one visit and left to bond with the bone before the final teeth are made, so two trips are normal. A temporary bridge is usually fitted so you are not left without front teeth.
- An examination and CT scan before anything is planned.
- A written plan naming the implant system, the number of implants and the restoration on top.
- A healing period of roughly three to six months, largely spent at home.
- A second, shorter visit to fit the final teeth where the case is staged.
Not sure which treatment applies to you? A coordinator will go through it with you.
Costs, timelines and the honest limits
Implant pricing in Turkey is per implant, with the crown or bridge priced on top, and grafting or extractions quoted separately. Published guide figures are useful for budgeting, but the only meaningful number is the one attached to your plan after an examination.
Nothing about implants is guaranteed. Implants can fail to integrate, particularly in heavy smokers or where bone quality is poor, and gum health has to be maintained afterwards. A clinic that skips that conversation is not one to book with.
How SmileOver fits in
SmileOver is not the clinic. We coordinate: sending your records, arranging the assessment, agreeing the written plan and price, organising your transfers and accommodation, and staying in contact through healing and aftercare. The dentistry is carried out by the clinic and its registered dentists.
Send photographs and a short description of what is missing or loose, and a coordinator will tell you what the dentist needs to see and roughly which implant option applies. Book a free assessment or chat on WhatsApp.

Dental Implants in Turkey: questions patients ask
How many trips does implant treatment in Turkey take?
Two in most cases: one to place the implants and one, three to six months later, to fit the final teeth. Cases needing grafting can add a stage.
Can I have implants if I have been told I have low bone?
Often yes, with grafting or a sinus lift first. How much bone is available can only be judged from a CT scan, so send your records for a review before assuming it is impossible.
Are the implants the same as those used in the UK?
The major systems — Neodent, Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Megagen and others — are the same products, CE-marked and used in British practices. Ask for the brand in writing.
How long do implants last?
Implants routinely last many years, and some last decades, but lifespan depends on your gum health, your bite, whether you smoke, and your maintenance. No clinic can honestly promise a fixed number of years.
Can I fly home after implant surgery?
Yes, once initial bleeding and swelling have settled, which is usually a few days. We build that margin into your itinerary.

How to read this page
SmileOver is a coordination service. We arrange consultations, written treatment plans, airport and clinic transfers, accommodation and aftercare contact for patients travelling from the UK and elsewhere.
Clinical care — diagnosis, treatment planning and the treatment itself — is provided by the independent dental clinic and its registered dentists in Turkey. SmileOver does not practise dentistry and does not decide which treatment you need.
Every page here is general information, not medical advice. Your dentist will assess your own teeth, and treatment varies between patients. No outcome is guaranteed and no treatment is suitable for everyone.
