Travelling to Turkey for Dental Treatment
The clinical part of treatment abroad is only half the planning. The other half is travel: getting from a British airport to the clinic, knowing how long you need to be away, arranging transfers and accommodation, and getting home comfortably afterwards.
This hub collects the practical pages — airports, transfers, hotels, packing, stay length and the journey home — for patients flying from the UK and elsewhere. Marmaris is served by Dalaman Airport, about seventy-five minutes away by road.
Flights, airports and transfers
Direct flights to Dalaman run from a number of UK airports in season, with connections available year-round. Tell your coordinator your flight number in advance so your driver can track delays and adjust your pickup.
Transfers between the airport, your accommodation and the clinic are included in SmileOver packages, which removes most of the day-to-day logistics while you are away and recovering.
- Dalaman is the usual arrival airport for Marmaris, roughly seventy-five minutes by road.
- Private transfers are arranged to meet you at arrivals.
- Clinic journeys are scheduled around your appointment times.
- If you prefer to arrange your own transport, we will give you the addresses and timings.

How long you need to be away
Crowns, veneers and bonding: plan five to seven days, including a spare day at the end for adjustments. Implant surgery: about a week for the first visit, with a rest day after surgery, and a shorter second visit for the final teeth.
Allow a margin in your itinerary. A delayed flight, a laboratory needing an extra day or a bite that needs refining all become far less stressful when you have not booked a flight home for the evening after your last appointment.
Not sure which treatment applies to you? A coordinator will go through it with you.
Getting home comfortably
For most treatment there is no restriction on flying. After extractions or implant surgery we usually suggest a few days before travelling so early bleeding and swelling have settled, and we would advise against flying home the same day.
Take the clinic's contact details and any written aftercare instructions with you, along with the medication you have been given or prescribed. Most questions in the first weeks are answered by a message to your coordinator.
Where SmileOver helps
Our role in the travel side is coordination: transfers, accommodation matched to your appointment dates, scheduling around your flights and a named coordinator reachable in English throughout your stay.
Send your dates and the airport you would fly from and we will tell you what is realistic. Request a callback or ask on WhatsApp.
Travelling to Turkey for Dental Treatment: questions patients ask
Which airport do I fly into for treatment in Marmaris?
Dalaman is the closest and the usual choice, roughly seventy-five minutes from Marmaris by road. Some patients arrive via Dalaman from UK airports in season, and via Istanbul with a connection out of season.
Are transfers included?
Airport and clinic transfers are included in SmileOver packages, with the details confirmed before you fly.
Do I need a visa to travel to Turkey from the UK?
British citizens do not normally need a visa for short tourist visits, but entry rules are set by the Turkish authorities and can change. Check the official guidance before booking.
How soon can I fly home after treatment?
After crowns and veneers, whenever suits you. After extractions or implant surgery we usually suggest a few days so early swelling and bleeding have settled.
Can someone travel with me?
Yes, and for surgical treatment a companion is genuinely useful for the journey home. Accommodation for two can be arranged — see our notes on travelling with a partner.

How to read this page
SmileOver is a coordination service. We arrange consultations, written treatment plans, airport and clinic transfers, accommodation and aftercare contact for patients travelling from the UK and elsewhere.
Clinical care — diagnosis, treatment planning and the treatment itself — is provided by the independent dental clinic and its registered dentists in Turkey. SmileOver does not practise dentistry and does not decide which treatment you need.
Every page here is general information, not medical advice. Your dentist will assess your own teeth, and treatment varies between patients. No outcome is guaranteed and no treatment is suitable for everyone.
