★All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 Dental Implants in Turkey

All-on-4 replaces a full arch of failing, broken or missing teeth with a fixed bridge supported by four dental implants. The teeth you leave with are fixed in place, not a removable denture.

It is reconstructive work rather than a cosmetic treatment, and it is planned from a CT scan of your jaw rather than from photographs. This page explains how All-on-4 works at our Marmaris clinic, who it may suit, what the trip involves and what we cannot promise.

Visits needed

Usually two visits to Marmaris

Time in Turkey

5 to 7 days for implant placement, then 5 to 7 days for the final bridge

Cost

Quoted after your CT scan — our published implant and crown package starts at £7,899

★The treatment

How All-on-4 works

Four implants are placed in the jaw that has the least bone: two upright at the front, where bone is usually densest, and two angled further back. Angling the rear implants lets the dentist use the bone that is there, which is why many patients need less grafting than with an implant-by-implant rebuild.

Temporary teeth are usually fitted during the same trip, so you are never without a smile while the implants bond to the bone. Several months later, once healing is confirmed, the final bridge is made in our own laboratory and fitted on your second visit.

All-on-4 is one option among several. Where bone volume allows, more implants can give greater support; where it does not, a bridge or an implant-supported denture may be more realistic. Your dentist will explain what your scan shows and why they are recommending a particular approach.

★Suitability

Who All-on-4 may suit

  • Most or all teeth in one arch are failing, heavily worn or already missing
  • You wear a loose full denture and would prefer fixed teeth
  • Bone loss has started, but there is enough bone in the front of the jaw to support four implants
  • You want fewer surgical sites than an implant-per-tooth rebuild
  • You can commit to two trips and to looking after the implants long term

Worth knowing first: All-on-4 is not suitable for everyone. Gum health, bone volume and density, how your bite loads the implants, smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and heavy night-time grinding all affect whether implants are likely to work. Some patients need grafting first; for others a different treatment is the more sensible route.

★What it offers

What patients usually gain

  • Fixed teeth that do not come out at night or when you eat
  • Chewing and speaking with a full arch again, which many denture wearers find the biggest change
  • Fewer implants than a tooth-by-tooth rebuild, so less surgery and often less grafting
  • A temporary bridge fitted during the same visit, so you are not left without teeth
  • The whole plan — scan, surgery, laboratory work and aftercare — arranged around one or two trips
★Balanced view

Risks and honest considerations

  • Like all implant treatment, All-on-4 carries a risk that an implant does not integrate with the bone. This is uncommon but real, and it may need replacing.
  • Swelling, bruising and soreness after surgery are normal. Placement is carried out under local anaesthetic, so the appointment itself should not be painful, but the following days are uncomfortable for most patients.
  • Bone grafting is sometimes still needed, which extends healing and changes the timetable.
  • Eating is limited to soft food during early healing, and the final bridge must be cleaned carefully every day.
  • Night-time grinding can overload implants, so a protective guard is often part of the plan.
  • Bridges and implants need review over the years. This is a long-term commitment, not a once-only fix.

No treatment is risk-free and no result can be guaranteed. Your dentist will go through what applies to you at your assessment.

★Step by step

The All-on-4 process, step by step

  1. 1

    Assessment and CT scan

Your dentist examines your mouth, reviews your medical history and takes a CT scan to measure bone volume and plan implant positions. Some of this can be done remotely from photographs and records before you travel.

  2. 2

    Written plan and quote

You receive a plan stating how many implants, which system, what the temporary teeth are made of, what the final bridge is made of, how many visits are needed and the full cost. Nothing is booked until this is agreed.

  3. 3

    Implant placement and temporary bridge

The four implants are placed surgically under local anaesthetic, usually in a single appointment of a few hours. A fixed temporary bridge is made and fitted before you leave Marmaris.

  4. 4

    Healing at home

Back in the UK you stay on a soft diet while the implants bond to the bone. This usually takes three to six months, and your coordinator stays in contact during it.

  5. 5

Final bridge, fitted on your second visit

Once healing is confirmed, impressions are taken and your final bridge is designed and milled in our laboratory, then fitted and checked for fit, bite and appearance.

  6. 6

    Aftercare and review

You go home with written hygiene guidance, details of the implant system used and a review plan. We support you remotely after you return to the UK, and can help arrange local review where needed.

★Practical detail

Before, during, after and beyond

Before you travel

You send photographs, any recent x-rays and your medical history, and tell us about medication — especially blood thinners, bisphosphonates and anything for diabetes. Dental treatment abroad is not right for everybody, and the assessment is where that becomes clear.

Before surgery you will be asked to stop smoking where possible, plan to stay a few days after the procedure and arrange travel insurance that covers dental treatment. We also ask what you are hoping for: eating properly again, a full smile, or both.

During treatment

Placement is done under local anaesthetic and takes a few hours for the first arch. Some patients are nervous, and your coordinator stays with you for appointments and translation.

The temporary bridge is fitted before you fly home, so you are never without teeth. It is a working bridge rather than the final result, and it will be replaced on your second visit.

Aftercare

You leave with written instructions: how to clean around the implants, what to eat, which mouthwash to use and what is normal during healing. Swelling usually peaks in the first two to three days and settles over the following week.

We stay in contact while you heal in the UK, and you are asked to keep your own dentist informed. Long term, implants need check-ups and a hygiene routine at home, and a protective night guard is usually recommended where grinding is a factor.

Recovery at a glance

Most patients take things easy for the first two or three days, manage discomfort with ordinary painkillers, and stay on soft food for one to two weeks. Bruising can take a week or more to fade.

The implants continue bonding to the bone for months after you are back to normal. The final bridge is only fitted once healing is confirmed — a slower route, but one that keeps the final teeth looking and fitting well.

★Pricing

What it costs and what is included

Cost depends on how many implants are needed, whether grafting is required and what the final bridge is made of. Our published implant and crown package — 12 implants with 24 zirconium crowns across two visits, including accommodation and transfers — starts at £7,899. You receive a written quote after your assessment. Prices are starting prices and vary with your individual treatment plan; book a free consultation for an accurate quotation.

★Frequently Asked Questions

All-on-4 Dental Implants: common questions

What exactly are All-on-4 dental implants?

Four implants are placed in one jaw — two at the front and two angled at the back — and together they support a fixed bridge of teeth. The bridge is screwed or cemented onto the implants, so it stays in place instead of being removed like a denture.

How long does All-on-4 treatment take?

The implants and temporary bridge are usually completed in a five to seven day trip. The final bridge is fitted on a second trip of similar length, once the implants have bonded to the bone — typically three to six months later.

Can I fly home straight after All-on-4 surgery?

Many patients fly home a few days after surgery once swelling has settled and their dentist has checked them. We plan the appointment dates so your final review happens before departure, and we would not sign you off to travel if there was a concern.

Will the All-on-4 bridge look natural?

The bridge is designed around your face and gum line, and it is made in our own laboratory. It will not be identical to the teeth you were born with, and we will show you what is realistic for your case before anything is made.

What happens if something goes wrong after I get home?

Contact your coordinator first — problems such as a loose bridge or sore gum can often be assessed from photographs. We arrange remote support and, where a hands-on fix is needed, help coordinate with a dentist near you. Implants carry a risk of failure, and no clinician can promise that yours will not.
