★Judging a clinic

Turkey Dental Treatment Reviews

Reviews are the most-read and least-reliable part of choosing a dental clinic abroad. They are genuinely useful for some things — whether a clinic answers messages, how the coordination felt, whether transfers ran on time — and close to useless for judging clinical work, which is what you are actually buying.

This page explains how to get value from reviews without being misled, and what to ask for instead.

What reviews are good for

Administrative reviews are reliable because they describe things a patient can judge immediately: whether the clinic replied quickly, whether the transfer was waiting, whether the coordinator was patient with questions, whether the price matched the quote.

Those are exactly the things that make a treatment trip stressful when they go wrong, so they are worth reading carefully. Volume matters too — a clinic with hundreds of reviews over several years is a different proposition from one with a dozen collected in a single month.

What reviews cannot tell you

A patient cannot assess their own bite, the marginal fit of a crown, or whether preparation was excessive — not on the day, and often not for years. Before-and-after photographs are marketing material, not evidence.

Watch for patterns rather than single opinions. Repeated mentions of rushed appointments, treatment that did not match the plan, or difficulty getting a reply after payment are the signals worth acting on. So is a suspiciously uniform set of reviews published in one burst.

Not sure which treatment applies to you? A coordinator will go through it with you.

Better evidence than a review

There are stronger things to ask for, and a clinic that works carefully will have answers.

  • The name and background of the dentist who will treat you.
  • A written treatment plan with materials named before any deposit.
  • A conversation with the clinical team, not only with sales staff.
  • The clinic's process for revisions, with timescales, in writing.
  • Patient references you can speak to, where the patient agrees.

How to ask SmileOver for references

We can put you in touch with former patients where they have agreed to it, and we will tell you honestly when we cannot. We publish patient stories with permission and without editing what patients said about the difficult parts — the recovery days, the waiting for laboratory work, and the adjustments.

Ask us anything about our process: message a coordinator, read patient stories, or see how to choose a dentist in Turkey.

★Frequently Asked Questions

Turkey Dental Treatment Reviews: questions patients ask

Are reviews of dental clinics in Turkey reliable?

Partly. They are useful for judging communication, punctuality and organisation, and unreliable for judging clinical quality, which patients are rarely able to assess.

Can reviews be faked?

Yes, on any platform and in any country. A large number of reviews posted in a short period, or worded almost identically, is a reason for caution.

Can I speak to a former patient?

Often, where that patient has agreed to be contacted. Ask, and treat a refusal as a normal answer rather than a red flag — some patients prefer privacy.

Should I trust before-and-after photographs?

Treat them as examples of what the clinic aims for, not as a prediction for you. Lighting, retouching and photography technique all affect how they look.

What should I ask instead of reading reviews?

Ask who examines you, what materials are used, what is excluded from the price, and what happens if something needs adjusting later. Those answers are checkable.

Do you publish negative feedback?

We publish what patients say on their own pages and we answer complaints directly. No clinic has none, and one that claims otherwise is not being straight with you.

How to read this page

SmileOver is a coordination service. We arrange consultations, written treatment plans, airport and clinic transfers, accommodation and aftercare contact for patients travelling from the UK and elsewhere.

Clinical care — diagnosis, treatment planning and the treatment itself — is provided by the independent dental clinic and its registered dentists in Turkey. SmileOver does not practise dentistry and does not decide which treatment you need.

Every page here is general information, not medical advice. Your dentist will assess your own teeth, and treatment varies between patients. No outcome is guaranteed and no treatment is suitable for everyone.
